WHAT IF CREATiVITY CAN BE OPEN-SOURCED?

<adapted from May, 2023 Linkedin post>

The open-sourced approach to solving problems is something I've been obsessed with since I started working closely with developers 👨‍💻.

The open-source approach to knowledge sharing involves making software or other products publicly available, along with the source code and documentation, so that anyone can contribute to or modify the product.

The benefits?

➡️ Collaboration: Faster development and better-quality software

➡️ Transparency that encourages experimentation and innovation

➡️ Community building leading to networking opportunities, mentorship, and support from like-minded people

➡️ Time and cost savings

I felt like these benefits should infiltrate within the Creative Community, especially Creatives who work in Agencies. I mean, why are we so closely guarding everything?!

❓ How can we build trust to share our day-to-day creative challenges, gain ideas, collaborate and solve each other's problems and also have an idea bank in hand that all of us can benefit from?

This is why I started the ✨CREATIVE COLLECTIVE✨.

🤩 Today, it's a close-knit, open-sourced approach to meet, learn, brainstorm and solve each other's day-to-day creative challenges.

We meet in-person once or twice a month, and keep in touch through Slack at other times.

💪 Tomorrow, I want this to be an open-sourced platform for all creatives to not just share our wins, but also experiment, innovate and contribute to the works of others, expecting only satisfaction in return, but gaining reputation as a by-product.
