NFTs are Memberships.

"NFTs are Memberships."

Those 3 words I've been using to explain NFTs to someone who isn't looking to get overwhelmed.

The memberships themselves are Smart Contracts (It's automated - meaning you don't need a legal or government authority to see that it holds.)

And, the membership card can be a digital picture, GIF or even an audio file.

Now, that everything is slightly more relatable, what sort of businesses can benefit from giving out memberships?

Gyms, restaurants, meal plans, yoga studios, comic studios, vineyards, pet care - pretty much any business that can extend a member value, can be NFT-ed.

Now, traditionally, member value can either be actual or perceived.

Actual value such as membership perks, discounts, networking etc.

Perceived value is how your members feel just by holding that particular membership - special, distinguished, lucky perhaps.

That rings a bell right?

Projects like SurgeWomenNFT come with educational resources and workshops that holders can make use of. Brava NFT has its Soldier Program that rewards and pays (in crypto) anyone that contributes towards the cause. VeeFriends is building an empire of Disney-like characters granting access to yearly mega conferences. Holding a BAYC or Cryptopunk gives you an elite status that's now a prime networking tool.

Today, the NFT Smart Contract is still at its infancy. So, much more development to be seen in the upcoming years. There's also the discussion of #blockchain agnosticism, security, sustainability...

But, let's just skip to the good part for a second.

Because NFTs are #digital, and because social media has groomed us to be a braggadocios generation, projects are naturally promoted and elevated by their members in a way we've never seen before.

Profile Pics (PFPs) are just one way of flaunting your exclusive member value. For instance I proudly display my #WorldofWoman NFT as my Linkedin PFP. It's an instant conversation starter.

Forget paid influencers, each and every holder of your project, is now your brand ambassador!

So, as a business, how to create an NFT that your members would love flaunting at any chance they get?

Now, that's a story for another day.
