DARC approached us to redesign their website with a clear goal: elevate their digital presence without losing the weight and credibility of an established architecture practice. They didn’t want to look like a startup. They wanted a modern, confident site that could hold depth, complexity, and serious thought, while still feeling sharp, current, and intentional.
We partnered with an award-winning creative director to evolve DARC’s brand system while respecting their existing logo. Together, we introduced a new colour palette, defined a strong brand device, and created a visual language that could scale across web, content, and future touchpoints.
With the brand foundation in place, we tackled content. DARC had a large volume of information and intentionally wanted it that way - their audience is high-end, detail-oriented, and deeply interested in process and thinking. Our role was to restructure and hierarchise this content, building a clear system that made complex information easy to scan, explore, and absorb without diluting its substance.
We translated the new brand device into a precise grid system across the site, ensuring visual consistency even with image-heavy layouts. Despite the richness of content and visuals, we optimised the site for performance, fast loading, and full mobile responsiveness—proving that depth and speed don’t have to compete.
To bring the experience together, we introduced subtle micro-animations and an opening hero animation using an AI-generated video, created from DARC’s own project imagery.
The result is a website that feels intelligent, composed, and contemporary, one that reflects DARC’s thought leadership while meeting modern expectations of performance and usability.
